May 3-5th I will walk 60 miles from Balimore to DC with more than 3,000 walkers to raise money for breast cancer. This year, 180,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and over 40,000 women are expected to die. A woman’s risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime is 1 in 9.

There is no way to prevent breast cancer, but if it is detected early, it can often be treated successfully.

The mission of the Avon Breast Cancer 3–Day Crusade is to provide medically underserved women with direct access to breast cancer early detection and support services, and to fund medical research to find the causes of and a cure for breast cancer and other women’s cancer.

Why am I walking? Personally, to be a part of something that is very important. And to help raise awareness and money for underserved women to receive the medical services they need. I have agreed to raise $1900 in pledges before April 5th. But, I need your help. Would you please consider making a fully tax-deductible pledge to help me meet my goal before April 5th! Please keep in mind how far I’m walking and how hard I’ll have to train for the Avon Breast Cancer 3–Day between now and July.
